Case Study: TCA Social

I have been on the board for the nonprofit Thornton Creek Alliance (TCA) for over a year, during which time I have contributed to its social media with original photography (that I have either taken or solicited) and short informative posts.

The post shown above is an example of a “goodwill” post, which provides some engaging factual information (Latin name of native flower and where it can be spotted in bloom). My method is to build engagement with such posts so that when the time comes to ask our audience members for advocacy, they are present, willing and able.

Since I started to contribute to TCA’s Facebook page, engagement has jumped and our audience has doubled. The actual numbers might seem less impressive, but nonetheless the growth has been exponential.
